1st Düsseldorf Para Ice Hockey Tournament
On August 29 and 30 the first Düsseldorf Para Ice Hockey Tournament took place at the Düsseldorf-Benrath Ice Sports Hall. In addition to exciting games, visitors had varied programs featuring try-out training sessions for beginners and anyone interested in the sport. The event therefore was inclusive event for people not only to watch, but also to get actively involved and give the sport a try. https://www.para-eishockey.de/
For the Düsseldorf team, the tournament is a particularly special occasion. Playing on home ice in front of their home crowd and competing against other teams is a valuable experience, as well as a great opportunity to raise awareness of para ice hockey in the region.

An important part of the event was the try-out training. Beginners, as well as anyone who has always wanted to try para ice hockey, had the opportunity to gain their first experience on the ice. The focus is on getting to know the sleds, learning the first movements on the ice, and, of course, having fun being active together.
The try-out sessions were open to people with and without disabilities. Para ice hockey stands for inclusion, community, and the joy of sport. The try out sessions were not only fun but it may even inspire participants to train regularly and become part of a team.

Olesya Zaglada visited the tournament on Sunday and could celebrate this event of inclusion.
