Football for All – Inclusive Football Tournament in Cugy

The football tournament in Cugy brought together a total of 17 teams and around 250 participants – the highest number ever recorded for this event. For the first time, two teams from German-speaking Switzerland took part. Traditionally, the tournament hosts around twelve teams, highlighting its continued growth and increasing popularity.

Among the participants were approximately 40 young people and young adults aged between 14 and 25. These players were part of the Entrebois A and B teams from AS Fairplay Lausanne, as well as La Castalie from Monthey. The remaining participants were mainly adults. To ensure fair competition, the teams were divided into three performance-based groups.

In the blue group, ASFP Lavigny claimed first place, followed by FC Solothurn. The red group was won by FC Solothurn, with Entrebois A finishing second. In the green group, FC Eben-Hézer took the top spot, while Entrebois B secured second place. The tournament was characterised by fair play, strong commitment and a positive, inclusive atmosphere throughout the day. Events like this clearly demonstrate the power of football to bring people together and create meaningful encounters across age groups, abilities and backgrounds.
