PSF visits Paralympic Games Paris 2024
Dr. Olesya Zaglada visited competitions in wheelchair basketball at Bercy Arena in Paris 2024 at Paralympic Games at the invitation of long term partner of PSF – International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF).
The wheelchair basketball games were very impressive and also faced unprecedented numbers of spectators.
During 11 days of Games a total of 568,704 spectators attended the 48 wheelchair basketball games at Bercy Arena. On average, 11,848 spectators filled the stands per game, surpassing expectations and highlighting the widespread enthusiasm for the sport.

IWBF Secretary General, Norbert Kucera, commented on Paris’ success:

Netherlands women’s team successfully defended their Paralympic gold medal, defeating the USA 63-49 in the final of the women’s wheelchair basketball competition at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. This win marks the Dutch team’s second consecutive Paralympic gold.

The USA men’s team secured their third consecutive Paralympic gold medal, defeating Great Britain 73-69 . The victory marks USA’s third straight Paralympic title, while it was Great Britain’s first appearance in the final since 1996.
